The ICHD AmeriCorps VISTA Program focuses on building the capacity of Ingham County organizations in the areas of education, economic opportunity, and access to care. The program emphasizes the importance of professional development and personal growth, while creating an exceptional AmeriCorps VISTA experience for our members during the service term. We provide monthly professional development opportunities to VISTA members and our site supervisors provide mentoring to their members. Members become a part of the Greater Lansing community, learn skills relevant to their future careers, and build networks to last a lifetime!

Member Duties : Positions begin JANUARY 2025! The VISTA Member will work to increase the number of Ingham, Eaton and Clinton County low-income, first generation and students of color who apply to and complete degrees and credentials in post-secondary programs. The AmeriCorps VISTA member will assist the CapCAN executive director and staff to create and sustain organizational capacity to establish CapCAN as the premiere school and community-based college access program in the Capital Region of Michigan; and other projects based on your interests!
