Sharing Life Volunteer Development VISTA (Year 1)
 
 
 
Sharing Life is a multi-service nonprofit that targets both the immediate and long-term needs of our clients. Our mission, the core of who we are, is to end bothe hunger and poverty. To do both, we know that we must not onlly provide food for our families, but it is important that we also set our clients up with programs and resources to create a better future for themselves and their families. Having nutritious foods is only the start of a better fuure. In addition to food, we currently offer emergency financial assistancem clothing, educational programs, GED Testing, job placements, financial coaching, medical equipment, and other non-food essentials.

Member Duties : The Volunteer Program Development VISTA will support the Volunteer Manager who oversees approximately 1,000 individual voluntees each year. The VISTA will help to modernize and streamline our volunteer program, benefiting both Sharing Life staff and the volunteers themselves. Sharing Life relies on our volunteers to do everything from stocking food pantry shelves to interfacing with our Board of Directors. Database cleanup with th goal of identifying and completing any incomplete volunteer records. Reconnect with lapsed volunteers and maintain current volunteers through new trainings and recognition events. The goal is to lower the turnover rate and increase new volunteer activity.
