City of Moab Affordable Housing Specialist VISTA
 
 
 
The City of Moab seeks a VISTA member to research and deliver solutions for affordable and stable housing. The VISTA will implement the 2023 Moab Area Affordable Housing Plan, including building partnerships with relevant organizations, employing strategies that best meet the housing needs of the community, and identifying funding sources for housing programs. This position will reduce poverty by facilitating affordable housing, reducing the likelihood that residents will be “house poor” or unhoused. It will also build capacity within the City to address housing issues by establishing processes and partnerships. The ideal candidate will have ideas and drive to move Moab’s initiatives forward. Research skills and creativity will empower the VISTA to identify successful strategies that have worked in other communities and design programs that will work in Moab. The ability to work independently and in teams will help the VISTA transition from designing programs to collaborating with representatives from the City, local services, and other partners to find funding and implement them. Additionally, communication skills and creativity will contribute to interfacing with the community at events. The VISTA will find an abundance of opportunities and local partners to design and implement these programs and to build capacity, so these programs continue.
