24-25 UCAN Environmental Education Specialist

The Applegate Partnership & Watershed Council is looking for an organized and motivated individual to develop and pilot a high school leadership program and a low-cost outdoor summer day camp with a counselor-in training program. The Environmental Education Specialist will work alongside high schools to recruit, train, and supervise youth leaders throughout the duration of these programs. This position will conduct classroom site visits and provide training sessions for high school leader cohorts. The Environmental Education Specialist will also assist with developing curriculum, engage in community outreach efforts, and support the program design for these two pilot programs. UCAN AmeriCorps partners with local organizations to host members in meaningful service projects to meet critical needs in SW Oregon. UCAN projects improve access to community programs in project focus areas of Education, Economic Opportunity and Healthy Futures. Members engage clients in their dedicated service project, and then use their experience to recruit, retain, and support community volunteers. Members serve full-time for 6 months, totaling 900 hours for the term of service. Our positions have benefits (education award, monthly stipend, training opportunities, etc). For more information and position descriptions, visit: www.ucancap.org/americorps. Interviews are conducted on a rolling basis as qualified candidates are identified. Selection may be made prior to the application deadline. Early application is strongly encouraged.
