OneStar Communication & Engagement VISTA Leader_Teleservice

OneStar Foundation (OneStar), located in Austin, Texas is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to strengthen the capacity of the nonprofit infrastructure to enable communities to more effectively solve social challenges. As part of this mission, OneStar established the OneStar Foundation Statewide VISTA Intermediary Program in 2014. After launching with 3 members at 2 host sites in August 2014, OneStar now sponsors about 20 members at 24 host sites across Texas. These VISTAs are fighting poverty through their service in Disaster Services, Economic Opportunity, Education, Veterans and Families, and Healthy Futures. OneStar is seeking an AmeriCorps VISTA Leader to provide leadership, peer development, and training to OneStar VISTA members across Texas. Since this Statewide VISTA Intermediary Project is growing rapidly, the OneStar Communication and Engagement VISTA Leader will have the opportunity to play a key leadership role in program development and helping members build a lifelong connection to service. The VISTA Leader will also help recruit, coordinate, train and support OneStar VISTAs to help them maximize their individual and collective impact. *Note: You must have at least one full term of service as a full-time AmeriCorps VISTA, AmeriCorps State/National, NCCC member, or at least one traditional term of service as a Peace Corps Volunteer to apply as a VISTA Leader** Housing Allowance- $200/mo, If you were to accept this position for in person service/ hybrid service/ or full teleservice you would need to live in or to relocate to Texas for this position.

Member Duties : OneStar Foundation’s Communication and Engagement VISTA Leader will build the capacity of OneStar Foundation’s Statewide VISTA Intermediary Program by providing training, peer development, and support to OneStar VISTA members across Texas. The Leader will mentor and coordinate teams of VISTA members throughout the state and develop and provide members with resources. In collaboration with the OneStar AmeriCorps VISTA Program Specialist, the VISTA Leader will recruit and strengthen incoming VISTA members. The VISTA Leader will also help create professional development trainings in collaboration with OneStar staff. Additionally, the VISTA leader will develop tools to help ensure that all VISTAs feel supported and appreciated. This position is expected to teleserve but there will be light travel will be required.
