Utah Refugee VISTA Project
 
 
 
Are you ready to make a positive impact on the lives of newly-resettled refugee families? We are so excited to announce a VISTA opportunity with the Utah Refugee VISTA Project in Salt Lake City, Utah! By accepting this role, you would be joining a team of dedicated AmeriCorps members. We offer customized professional development opportunities to all members within our project. All members in our program receive an $880 bi-weekly stipend, 11 paid holidays, and 80 hours each of personal and medical leave. Additional benefits include relocation and settling-in allowance, childcare assistance, and healthcare reimbursement. Upon completion of service, our members are awarded their choice of an Education Award ($7,395) or cash stipend ($1,800), and a one-year federal noncompetitive eligibility status. Member Duties : The Community Program Management VISTA will strengthen and expand equitable access to resources and programming for refugee clients and communities, with a focus on Central and South American refugees and newcomers. They will launch and assess programs, increase sustainability and replicability of offered programs, and to boost collaboration between refugee and mainstream organizations to meet the identified needs and interests of clients. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in or be willing to learn more about program development, community organization and outreach, and program recruitment. They will have an eye for detail, experience in writing/editing, and skill in cross-cultural communication. Most importantly, they must have a passion for and willingness to learn more about refugee services and inclusive community programming.
