Bay Area Alliance Development Specialist VISTA_Y1

Bay Area Alliance for Youth and Families (The Alliance) serves, supports, and inspires students and families to build a healthier community for all. The Alliance serves all students and families in Clear Creek and Friendswood ISDs with a particular emphasis on at-risk students and families. In Friendswood, they serve families referred by FISD Counselors who need additional assistance. The Alliance provides assistance for back to school and the holidays - as well as basic needs food, clothing, utilities and water throughout the year. They partner students with local organizations that provide an opportunity to play sports, take music lessons, or other positive activities that build resiliency in kids. The goal is to reduce risk while building protective factors in youth who would otherwise not be able to afford it. The Alliance also serves students who have been identified as at-risk through their Curriculum Based Support Group that is provided to over 400 students in multiple school districts. Many of these families are also low socioeconomic households. The Bay Area Alliance Development Specialist VISTA will create communications resources to support outreach for The Alliance, increase volunteer rates, and advance fundraising initiatives.
