AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer Development Coordinator

The UA Wildcat Corps VISTA project aims to empower low-income communities in Arizona by addressing critical poverty-related challenges through community-driven solutions. It will build on and leverage the capacity of Cooperative Extension to reach low-income communities by developing a volunteer recruitment, training, and management program. Our approach is designed to involve the community at every stage, to ensure long-term sustainability, and to ultimately help lift individuals out of poverty. In Yavapai County, the primary focus of the volunteer program will be expanding food and nutrition education and financial literacy outreach and support. This may include improving program capacity and support for basic cooking skills, food and recipe demonstrations, food safety information, shopping on a budget, food storage and preservation to improve nutrition security and reduce food waste. Help improve nutrition security in Yavapai County. Expand outreach and support for food and nutrition education and financial literacy through development of a volunteer program that will serve the communities where they live.
