Looking for a Tutor to join our Sewa AmeriCorps program to help students review assignments,exams & prepare for tests.Tutor is responsible for helping students learn and understand new concepts and complete assignments. They prepare lessons to teach and provide additional projects. You will help students in gaining a better understanding of concepts taught in school. You may also communicate with site supervisors to track progress. Responsibilities: - Reduced Half Time AmeriCorps members serve minimum of 675 hours in 7 months from 11/1/24 to 5/31/25 - Reviewing cl curricula topics & assignments - Subject based tutoring of 10-12 students Mon-Thu and Saturday-Possible virtual option may be available. Facilitate interaction with students and other tutors to plan and coordinate lessons - Demonstrate academic competence in the subject area and build curriculum and post lesson plans on the google drive - Assisting students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research etc, - Assisting students to help them understand key concepts, - Track student’s learning progress, and advancement. - Facilitate problem-solving with a curious mind and critical thinking - Collaborate effectively with others to increase student performance - Plan and execute weekend fun activities for the students onsite - Maintain timesheets and hours spent tutoring, site visits, training etc. - Members may be required to participate in other services like summer camp Requirements and skills US citizenship or green card - High school diploma or equivalent - Tutor experience preferred - Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, etc. - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Knowledge of curriculum building, Team Building - Patient, flexible, positive, consistent, dependable and cooperative - Ability to take supervision and correction constructively - Ability to positively supervise students - Access to reliable transport. contact Varsha Chauhan 210-717-7867 or americorps-georgia@sewausa.org
