Mayor Tim Keller has made a commitment to turn city government inside out and provide pathways to action and impact for every resident through service to build capacity and address to solve some of our city’s most intractable poverty-related problems. We are currently seeking candidates that are enthusiastic, organized, and have a passion for community interaction. One ABQ VISTA members will serve alongside senior level city staff to help create a best in class, youth engagement program for city departments and community partners that includes volunteer service and civic learning and interaction. City Hall is a great place to learn new skills and grow your professional network! This Service Opportunity Listing is designed to support youth engagement work, focusing on youth that does not have access to programming or volunteer opportunities. The VISTA Service Member selected for this role will focus their work on designing a sustainable youth engagement program.

Member Duties : Our mission: To foster civic engagement among Albuquerque residents by cultivating meaningful volunteer opportunities, enhancing accessibility to city governance, and empowering individuals to actively shape decisions impacting their lives. We aim to amplify civic energy, enabling residents to recognize and leverage their collective power in meaningful participation. Our office is in city hall. VISTA member will: 1) co-design and launch youth civic engagement programming 2) work with City depts. to ensure alignment with the strategic priorities and build capacity 3) establish relationships with community and educational organizations 4) support outreach and initiatives on opportunities for impact 5) represent the Mayor's Office in interactions with departments and the public.
