Peer Mentor and Life Skills Presenter
 
 
 
Project Reset supports youth and families across the state of Arizona who are struggling with mental health, substance use, and life challenges. The AmeriCorps team is dedicated to serving youth struggling academically, with mental health, life and substance use obstacles and family conflict. Our AmeriCorps members serve as positive role models, provide one-on-one and small group tutoring/mentoring, provide life skills trainings, provide coaching and support, remove barriers to care when needed, and provide life skills presentations. Our members also recruit and manage volunteers and participate Day of Service projects, group outings and other functions. This position will also engage in activities that provide support for the AmeriCorps team. The direct service you will deliver as an AmeriCorps member is individualized and is designed to meet youth and families where they are in their life journeys. As an AmeriCorps member you will engage in diverse activities that involve recurring access to youth, and families. You may participate in other activities, including providing transportation, performing outreach to schools and the community, assessing needs, keeping accurate records, developing relationships with treatment providers, participating in and building coalitions with community stakeholders to increase health equity and overall community impact.

Member Duties : The following is a description of specific duties as Peer Mentor & Life Skills Presenter: 1. Peer Mentor: Provide one to one and group mentorship to individuals struggling academically, with mental health, life and substance abuse obstacles and family conflict. Provide positive role modeling. Report outcome measures and complete pre post surveys. Support all individuals and families and create experiences that meet the individuals where they are at.2. Responsible for transportation and removing obstacles and barriers to care by driving when needed. 3. Life Skills Presenter: Participate in community programs/functions, group outings and activities. Develop curriculum to present to targeted groups. Educate , coach and support young adults. Use data to identify needs and teach life skills by utlizing established and developed curriculum.
