Health Equity VISTA
 
 
 
Network for Developing conscious Communities (NDCC) founded in 2014, is a 501 ( c ) (3) non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire conscious development of sustainable Black communities through the practice of mindful collective principles. NDCC offers a continuum of community development services to build sustainable Black communities and strengthen the capacity of BIPOC community development organizations. It has been involved in highlighting the impact of gentrification, racial disparities in community development and promoting equitable community development practices The objectives of health equity project include: 1.Identifying and Addressing Health Disparities: Health equity project aim to identify and understand existing disparities in health outcomes among those based on race, socioeconomic status, geographic location, or other factors. 2.Promoting Access to Healthcare: The project work to improve access to healthcare services, ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their background, have equal opportunities to receive quality healthcare. Results and impacts of the project include: 1.Improved Health Outcomes: The ultimate goal is often to see a reduction in health disparities and an improvement in health outcomes among marginalized or underserved Black populations. This could manifest as decreased rates of diseases, better management of chronic conditions, and increased life expectancy. 2.Enhanced Access to Healthcare: Project result in increased access to healthcare services, including preventive care, screenings, treatments, and medications, for disadvantaged communities.

Member Duties : Conduct outreach to marginalized communities to understand their healthcare needs and challenges. Identify the specific health disparities within the community. Create and implement health education programs to empower community members with knowledge about preventive care, healthy lifestyles, and available healthcare resources. Work with local organizations and community leaders to enhance their capacity to address health disparities. Identify and mobilize volunteers, donations, and partnerships to support health equity projects. Assist in grant writing and fundraising activities. Build partnerships with local healthcare providers, community organizations, and government agencies to strengthen the healthcare ecosystem. Develop systems for monitoring and evaluating the impact of health equity interventions. Ensure that programs and interventions are culturally competent and sensitive. Provide regular reports to supervisors and funding organizations on health equity initiatives
