Stewards VISTA- Community Services Network of Wyoming

In 1964, Congress passed the Economic Opportunity Act to empower local communities to address poverty through targeted support and local decision-making. Today, each state receives Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funds, which are distributed to local agencies working directly with individuals and families to help them achieve long-term stability and independence. In Wyoming, the Department of Health administers these funds to qualified organizations. The Community Services Network of Wyoming (CSNOW) serves as the statewide association for Wyoming’s CSBG grantees. Our mission is to strengthen, support, and unify local agencies through advocacy, training, and shared resources. We work to ensure that taxpayer dollars are well spent, that local voices guide local solutions, and that communities have the tools they need to create long-lasting impact. Through networking opportunities, peer learning, and strategic partnerships, CSNOW helps agencies replicate successful programs, improve outcomes, and maintain a clear focus on empowering individuals to achieve economic mobility. CSNOW is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization governed by a board of directors committed to the long-term well-being of Wyoming’s communities

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps VISTA member will gather and analyze statewide data to help us identify service gaps and areas with the greatest need. This information will guide how we align both public and private resources to ensure they are used efficiently and effectively to address root causes of poverty. In addition, the VISTA will assist in identifying and supporting local organizations in Wyoming that are working to grow their capacity and improve their operations. By building a robust membership network, we aim to provide practical training, technical support, and proven best practices that help organizations deliver meaningful results in their communities. The VISTA will also support improvements to a centralized membership database that will serve as a key tool for communication, collaboration, and accountability.
