Literacy In Financial Thinking - LIFT Silver Springs
 
 
 
The AmeriCorps member will be expected to serve Half-time (Avg-20 hours a week), September 3rd, 2024 – August 17th, 2025. Service hours schedule will be determined by the HCC Pantry site. Members will serve at HCC project locations throughout Lyon County. Member will also participate in one National Day of Service, Drug Take Back Day in Lyon County. Also, one more service outreach event to host for at least 15 people. Primary Functions Complete the financial literacy curriculum FDIC Money Smart Set up a class schedule for weekly age-appropriate classes Train community participants in financial literacy Banking Budgeting/Spending Habits Saving Borrowing Credit and investment Participate in one stand-alone outreach event providing financial literacy education. Input pre and post surveys of participants Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be responsible and reliable. Have reliable transportation to service. Must have strong verbal communication skills. Be comfortable speaking to individuals or to small groups. Organized and detail oriented. Be able to work independently and be a self-starter. Bilingual helpful (English/Spanish). Participate in providing assistance for weekly activities specific to each individual HCC Pantry site. Members may help connect food pantry clients with needed resources in the area, do food deliveries to clients that are home bound or without transportation and other miscellaneous tasks that do NOT duplicate or displace positions that are typically filled by another employee or volunteer.
