Appalachia CARES AmeriCorps
 
 
 
AmeriCorps members in the Appalachia CARES program will serve with community based organizations, not-for-profits, or local agencies to address community needs. Direct service focus areas are housing services, energy efficiency, and conservation. Members also support a broader impact on community development by expanding capacity of local organizations and recruiting and managing volunteers. Positions vary from seasonal to full-time/ one year terms, and specific skills and tasks vary based on partner needs.

Member Duties : Members will implement direct service in the community, including original programming and agency-guided projects and tasks. Daily service activities will be determined by the service site in which the member is placed, and relevant training and professional development will be provided when applicable. Members may serve in office settings, outdoors in park settings, at historic sites, on construction sites, or in shared community workspaces. Service opportunities are available in urban, rural, and suburban settings depending on the location and positions available.
