Martha O'Bryan Center is an anti-poverty non-profit organization with longstanding history and deep community roots, grounded in tradition and strengthened by innovation. Service members help Martha O'Bryan Center serve more than 12,000 clients each year through a comprehensive continuum of services including early learning education, youth development, job placement, family resources, and social services. This opportunity is for an 11-month AmeriCorps term. Service times are either 9 am - 6 pm or 10am–7pm Monday – Friday, depending on site location. AmeriCorps members at MOBC get an additional $500/month for a housing allowance! Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist K-8 Leadership Team in curriculum creation, organization, and implementation Coordinate with Site Coordinator on student recruitment and engagement strategies Build relationships with a small cohort of students Provide hands-on academic assistance to students daily Provide complementary homework help and foundational support daily Help each student achieve success by encouraging students to reach individual goals Provide enrichment activities for students based on member’s individual gifts and talents Plan and execute quarterly parent meetings Sustain effective partnerships with community organizations Assist Site Coordinators in preparation for upcoming week’s programming Create enrichment lesson plans for activities Utilize programming information to check attendance and communicate with parents Inventory and organize program materials Assist with childcare during parent events Employ databases to assist programming and grant reporting (NAZA, LEAPS, 21st CCLC, ELAP, SalesForce) Collect and utilize data to inform programming Participate in AmeriCorps professional development and community-building workshops You can read more about AmeriCorps at MOBC here: https://mobcamericorps.weebly.com/
