Institutional Advancement Operational Specialist VISTA
 
 
 
Located at the tip of Texas, adjacent to Mexico and 20 miles from South Padre Island, Texas Southmost College is a medium-sized community college located on the grounds of historic Fort Brown. VISTAs will promote social justice in a bicultural environment while building skills in leadership, project management, and communication. The candidate should possess the following knowledge and skills: strong organizational skills; ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with students, college employees and the public; ability to handle sensitive and extensive confidential data; and the ability to perform and excel in a high-tech all-digital environment.

Member Duties : The VISTA will assist the Institutional Advancement division in strengthening operations to improve college efficiencies that provide students and the community with more access to anti-poverty programming. This will include: 1) collaborating with the Institutional Advancement Division leadership team to develop training modules for the SOPs and work instruction (noted above) and integrate into an annual training calendar; 2) developing and implementing an evaluation plan for determining the effectiveness of trainings, processes, and procedures for continuous improvement; and 3) archiving the standard operating procedures, training materials, and other work products for use by the college community.
