Member Duties : Americorps members will be assigned at risk youth that hey will be monitoring school progress (Check) and meeting with mentors and parents (Connect) to set goals for school performance, encourage attendance, problem solve issues and provide support and encouragement for the youth to stay in school and complete high school. Mentors will be trained in the Check and Connect Program and will receive orientation and training related to mental health topics. AmeriCorps members will work with care coordinators and mental health providers to deliver services to meet needs of the youth in the program.
