| Member Duties : Youth Action Project, with its 25 AmeriCorps Members, provides tutoring and life skills development services to over 340 high school students within San Bernardino City Unified School District and Rialto Unified School District. Members provide personalized academic coaching, primarily in the areas of math and English Language Arts, at identified school sites. Members also guide students through the process of goal setting and developing educational and/or career plans, as well as performing case management duties by engaging parents, and tracking beneficiaries and their progress. As a result of working with our members, YAP’s expected outcomes include an increase in academic performance based on standardized testing, increased engagement and connection to school and over 100 volunteers recruited for community service activities.
