Homes on the Hill CDC

The HOTH AmeriCorps VISTA project will allow our VISTA member to gain experience in grassroots marketing, volunteer engagement, urban gardening, fundraising and event planning, and affordable housing development. The HOTH VISTA member will help our agency to improve our marketing, volunteer engagement, and program improvement tools in conjunction with events and activities related to our 32nd anniversary. Our VISTA member will also help increase access to fresh and healthy foods to low-income individuals in our Hilltop neighborhood by increasing the capacity of the Belvidere Healthy Living Garden. This garden is in the heart of our low-income neighborhood and provides the perfect location to reach community residents where they live. Finally, our VISTA member will help us to improve and expand our education and outreach to first time homebuyers through our new CredEvolv program, and to families facing homelessness through our new Housing Stability Program.

The VISTA will have a unique opportunity to establish and build relationships with government agencies, nonprofits, community stakeholders, investors, and researchers.
