E3.24 PSE Change and Community Outreach Coordinator VISTA

Lincoln Park Children and Families Collaborative (LPCFC) is a non-profit that was founded in 2011 and is located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Duluth. Our mission is to support children and families by connecting them to resources and opportunities, embracing our cultures, and building community and well-being through strong and equitable leadership. We have a vision of creating strong, thriving, healthy, and equitable communities in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. One of our purposes is to enhance the lives of children and families. The VISTA member will spend their service time working with our Executive Director to build LPCFC capacity by: managing and tracking volunteers and their work; assisting with fundraising campaigns and grant writing and reporting; updating website, writing newsletters, and creating posts and events on social media; serving on LPCFC Board Committees, Development and Communications; organize meeting and event logistics; assist Rise to Health Power coalition in food security efforts; and manage the Big Red Bookshelf program. The VISTA member will increase our organizational capacity by managing volunteers, securing funding, increasing community awareness of our work and funders, and supporting our Board committee work, including creating, reviewing, and updating organization and program policies. Our programs that are run by volunteers include Rise to Health Power Coalition, the monthly Grocery Give Away event, and Big Red Bookshelf, 17 bookshelves across the City, stocked with free, donated books for children to take home. The VISTA member will be part of the Ecolibrium3 AmeriCorps VISTA cohort. Although each member is serving in a unique position, all cohort members will participate in VISTA specific activities such as regular cohort meetings, collaborative projects, professional development opportunities, and trainings.
