Member Duties : • Reduce the stigma associated with food pantries
• Create a student-focused, broad-based community support system to help reduce the
multiple barriers that prevent under-resourced student success.
• Enable students from both poverty/non-poverty backgrounds to develop peer-to-peer,
student/ally relationships of support.
• Encourage all students within the community to take the college course, Poverty
and Society. Within this classroom setting, students experiencing poverty and those from
non-poverty backgrounds co-engage in peer-to-peer, student/ally relationships of support
and develop strategies to end poverty by changing mindsets, and building resources.
• Provide college faculty and staff with knowledge and strategies to accommodate complex needs and reduce the barriers of under-resourced students.
• Build relationships with external partners, resources, and funding streams to bridge access to necessary, supplemental resources
