24-25 Early Childhood Teacher Corps Member
 
 
 
The Early Childhood Teacher Corps (ECTC) is designed to support school readiness of vulnerable children while offering a pipeline into the early education profession. Partnering with early care and education programs, the Early Childhood Teacher Corps will serve 22 Half Time AmeriCorps members in the Greater New Orleans region and the Greater Baton Rouge region. Early Childhood Teacher Corps (ECTC) members will provide targeted literacy, language, and math activities for children ages 0-4 enrolled in the early childhood program as well as support all facets of child learning and development to lead teachers within their assigned classroom placements. Upon program completion, members will gain in-class experience, receive CDA training, receive support for ongoing job placement in an early childhood classroom, and provide quality teacher-child interactions for children served. The ECTC member is to assist the lead teacher in all aspects of the children's daily care and education routines. This includes providing assistance with supervision, management, and guidance of a classroom of children, as well as preparation for daily activities. This is a Part time position serving 900 hours and will receive $12,600 in a living allowance during the service term.

Member Duties : Work closely with 4PXP staff, ECTC Lead Member, Host Site Lead Teacher and Host Site Supervisor • Service hours are Monday- Friday for 6 hours and may be scheduled between 8a-5pm. Members are required to check in and submit timesheets•Serve productively and effectively across service environments and adhere to program policies and procedures •Meet Monthly service hour benchmarks•Meet monthly CDA courswork requirements•Demonstrate the ability to balance service activities •Adhere to weekly observations and plan delivery of daily learning activities •Submit weekly assessments •Complete and submit daily attendance check-in •Attend training sessions, service projects and activities and meetings•Demonstrate professional behavior, appropriate language and effective communication skills•Support classroom Lead teacher and Host Site in meeting the developmental and learning needs of the children served
