EngageHCM Volunteer System Specialist
 
 
 
The Virginia Capacity Building Project supports the Virginia Department of Social Services and their partners in alleviating the effects of poverty through having our VISTA members do organizational capacity building work. While our project covers a wide range of issue areas, from substance use disorder to immigrant and refugee services, all of our members are dedicated to increasing the impact and reach of social services and to pursuing healthy futures for all Virginians. The efforts of our AmeriCorps members will help us build towards a healthier, happier, and stronger Commonwealth.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will be serving with the United Way of Henry County & Martinsville to expand the visibility of volunteer opportunities & connect volunteers to applicable opportunities. Project is centered around activating community service and non-profit organizations on the EngageHCM Volunteer portal & assisting those organizations in attracting volunteers. The VISTA will be a lead administrator of the volunteer portal & assist organizations in using the portal. Through applying best practices in community engagement, VISTA will help organizations effectively recruit & retain volunteer resources. They will work with marketing & communications to ensure the community is aware of the platform & drive increased enrolment of citizens in the platform. Skills including software, outreach, research, & excellent written & verbal communication is preferable. Applicant should reside within commuting distance of Martinsville & be comfortable visiting organization sites within Henry County.
