Grass Roots Support VISTA
 
 
 
The Grass Roots VISTA will support a small group of grassroots non-profits with key leverage points to move them into a place of more effective models with greater reach in the community. Organizations addressing root cause issues are integral to the sustainability and long-term success of our community development projects. The VISTA Member will support a select group of these organizations to develop sustainable solutions for their future success. The Grassroots Support VISTA will be based at Wake County Cooperative Extension's main office in Raleigh and will support several partners with specific projects.

Member Duties : 1. Identify and assess new potential partners’ needs. develop a work plan and build a portfolio of grass-roots organizations to be supported during the year of service. 2. Assist small food-based organizations with the development of website, marketing, social media, and business planning models that increase public awareness of their programs as well as ability to obtain funding and better market their organization. 3. Guide development and implementation of pilot projects in partnership with grassroots nonprofits and faith groups across the region. 4. Assist partner E Fusion Solutions with grant writing and to create and market tools that are socially viable and useful for population served 5. Build the organizational capacity of Mary Magdalene Ministries (MMM) by supporting fundraising, marketing, partnership and curriculum development.
