24-25 Developmental Disabilities Support VISTA- Richmond, VA
 
 
 
Since 1923, Commonwealth Catholic Charities (CCC) has provided life-changing human services to vulnerable individuals and families throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. CCC offers quality and compassionate human services to all people, especially the most vulnerable, regardless of faith. CCC provides comprehensive, person-centered case management support and care coordination to individuals with a documented developmental disability to improve their day-to-day functioning and enable them to lead fuller, more independent lives. Individuals receiving services through this program are living with a range of developmental disabilities and intellectual disabilities. The VISTA will provide vital support to the program in Richmond by identify gaps in services and developing a plan for meeting unmet needs and expanding CCC’s capacity to support individuals and families through volunteer recruitment and management. This project will require the VISTA to be able to research and analyze findings and propose recommendations. The VISTA will utilize a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, oral/written skills are a plus. This position is ideal for a VISTA that can demonstrate competence in communicating and interacting with others of diverse cultural, geographic, and economic backgrounds in a professional and compassionate manner. This VISTA position is in Richmond Virginia, a thriving city offering a mix of history and urban cool with a renowned foodie culture, museums, and other unique attractions. Richmond is a welcoming city home to diverse people from every background, ideology, and ability. This VISTA position is a part of Catholic Charities USA’s Family Strengthening Program, a national intermediary project. As a member, you will meet virtually with VISTA Leaders and other VISTAs serving throughout the country, all focused on alleviating poverty.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will provide vital support in the development and expansion of DD Waiver services. The VISTA will identify gaps in services, especially in health, mental health, and employment areas by conducting a needs analysis and developing a plan for meeting unmet needs. The VISTA will expand CCC’s capacity to support individuals and families through volunteer recruitment, training, and management.
