24-25 DuPage HFH - Housing Action Corps - Programs
 
 
 
The Program Intake Specialist will serve with DuPage Habitat for Humanity and Chicago South Suburbs (DHFH-CSS) in Wheaton, IL from August 2024-2025. DHFH-CSS is part of the Housing Action Corps, an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010. Housing Action Corps members receive custom training, support, and networking opportunities in housing and community development, in addition to the traditional benefits of AmeriCorps VISTA. Learn more: housingactionil.org/americorps. At DHFH-CSS, we envision a world where every person has a decent place to live. We provide affordable mortgages and home repairs in our geographical areas. The Program Intake Specialist will refine our application and intake processes so we can serve more individuals and families in the Chicago South Suburbs. The AmeriCorps member will research and test industry best practices to expand our outreach and ensure that those entering our program have the best experience possible. If you are passionate about affordable housing and want to have an impact on others while expanding your professional experience, DHFH-CSS is the place to do it. Our ideal candidate is an organized, empathetic individual with the ability to handle tough conversations with tact. Shared housing and utilities are offered at $1 per month for all DHFH-CSS AmeriCorps members.

Member Duties : DHFH-CSS has limited bandwidth to reexamine our outreach, intake, and application processes. The Program Intake Specialist will streamline our systems to improve the overall experience for program participants and build our capacity to offer housing and home repair services to more households. They will research best practices, analyze program data, and implement new strategies. By the end of their service, they will document the processes and procedures for intake calls and applications, as well as present findings to applicable departments.
