LANSING MI - Women's Economic Empowerment AmeriCorps VISTA
 
 
 
The ICHD AmeriCorps VISTA Program focuses on building the capacity of Ingham County organizations in the areas of education, economic opportunity, and access to care. The program emphasizes the importance of professional development and personal growth, while creating an exceptional AmeriCorps VISTA experience for our members during the service term. Members receive $150 in professional development funding each service term, and are also invited to monthly professional development sessions covering topics such as: resume writing, credit scores, and job searching. Members become a part of the Greater Lansing community, learn skills relevant to their future careers, and build networks to last a lifetime.

Member Duties : Positions begin NOVEMBER 2024! The AmeriCorps VISTA Member will assist staff at the Women's Center in Lansing, MI in offering job training and support to survivors of domestic abuse. This will include: Strengthen current job training offerings with a focus on trauma-informed curriculum and resources, build out new curriculum and programming; Develop and implement community outreach strategies to spread awareness of programs and increase collaboration with local partners; Research sustainable funding sources for programming by building list of possible grants and completing relevant research to apply to grants, as well as planning fundraising events throughout the year; and more tasks built around your interests!
