LANSING MI - Economic Empowerment/Apprenticeship VISTA
 
 
 
The ICHD AmeriCorps VISTA Program focuses on building the capacity of Ingham County organizations in the areas of education, economic opportunity, and access to care. The program emphasizes the importance of professional development and personal growth, while creating an exceptional AmeriCorps VISTA experience for our members during the service term. Members receive $150 in professional development funding each service term, and are also invited to monthly professional development sessions covering topics such as: resume writing, credit scores, and job searching. Members become a part of the Greater Lansing community, learn skills relevant to their future careers, and build networks to last a lifetime.

Member Duties : Positions begin OCTOBER 2024! The AmeriCorps VISTA Member will assist Mikey23 Foundation, a job-training organization based in Lansing, MI, to improve the lives of young people through innovative education and training in the area of skilled trades by: Build system for collecting and evaluating data from apprenticeship and job training programs; Research funding avenues, create and implement fundraising plan in order to fund and sustain youth programming; Maintain and develop relationships with community partners in Ingham County in order to build capacity and reach; and other projects based on your interests!
