ilooklikeLOVE Communications and Development VISTA, OneStar

ilooklikeLOVE is dedicated to empowering generations of Dallas mothers by providing emotional and financial relief through a range of services. With a mission centered on addressing the significant diaper need among low-income families, ilooklikeLOVE plays a vital role in the community by distributing baby care essentials and offering financial education to support long-term stability. The organization's commitment to aiding mothers in overcoming financial hurdles is evident in its diverse support spectrum, from immediate hygiene needs to fostering financial literacy and wellness through its EmpowerU program. The AmeriCorps VISTA member will focus on enhancing ilooklikeLOVE's capacity to serve its community by developing and refining the organization's communications and fundraising strategies. This includes building a sustainable framework for marketing and donor engagement, identifying new funding opportunities, and creating materials that effectively convey the impact of ilooklikeLOVE's work. By doing so, the VISTA member will play an important role in expanding the organization's reach and ensuring more low-income mothers in Dallas can access the essential services they need for their families' health and financial well-being. Through these efforts, ilooklikeLOVE continues to contribute significantly to the community, addressing both immediate needs and long-term challenges faced by mothers in Dallas. On average, the VISTA member will serve in-person 2 days a week, and teleserve 3 days a week.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps VISTA member assigned to ilooklikeLOVE will focus on enhancing the organization's communications and development strategies. Their primary duties include building and refining the marketing and fundraising infrastructure to ensure a sustainable long-term plan for accessing diverse donor pools. Activities involve creating impactful messaging, engaging with community partners, and leveraging social media platforms to increase visibility. The VISTA will play an important role in planning and executing fundraising campaigns, identifying grant opportunities, and developing materials that effectively communicate the mission and impact of ilooklikeLOVE. Through these efforts, the VISTA aims to expand the organization's capacity to serve more low-income mothers in Dallas, addressing critical needs such as diaper supply and financial literacy, thereby contributing to the overall mission of empowering generations of Dallas mothers for economic opportunity and recovery.
