Member Duties : The AmeriCorps member will be a valuable asset. Their primary responsibility will be materials development to facilitate better community engagement, including webinars, fact sheets, communications development, and listening sessions. The AmeriCorps member will also support additional projects as capacity allows, including our campaign to end MACH-2, track state legislation, support writing comments submitted on the state/federal level, and gather research materials in coordination with partner organizations. NJEA's focus areas will support our work in bridging community perspective and lived experience with our policy and organizing goals and agenda.
Given that NJEJA supports EJ communities, this is directly related to civil rights anti-poverty work. Furthermore, the AmeriCorps member's work will allow us to understand how the community understands particular policies and how they may affect their day-to-day life. In turn, we will rely on community input to shape our policy agenda.
