Communications VISTA_Teleservice, OneStar

OneStar Foundation (OneStar), located in Austin, Texas is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to strengthen the capacity of the nonprofit infrastructure to enable communities to more effectively solve social challenges. As a capacity building organization, OneStar supports nonprofits through research, training, and network convening to better serve communities in poverty. The Communications VISTA will support the following program areas at OneStar: Rebuild Texas Fund, Together Texas/Texas Nonprofit Strong, and Volunteer Texas. The Communications VISTA will enhance communication infrastructure for OneStar to better connect with stakeholders and increase community engagement. The VISTA member will create templates, pilot the use of AI, and develop systems to create sustainability for communications efforts at OneStar. The work of the VISTA member will be key in building up OneStar’s communication efforts, making a real difference in the lives of Texans. Looking for someone with strong writing, storytelling skills, and experience creating and editing social media campaigns. **Please note: VISTA member will teleserve 5 days a week and receive a $200/month housing stipend.

Member Duties : The Communications VISTA will enhance communication infrastructure for OneStar to better connect with stakeholders and increase community engagement. The VISTA member will create templates, pilot the use of AI, and develop systems to create sustainability for communications efforts at OneStar. The VISTA member will teleserve 5 days a week. The AmeriCorps VISTA member teleserving in this role will enhance OneStar's communications to better engage stakeholders and the community. Duties include designing and implementing communication strategies to increase volunteerism and supporting the creation of impactful content by leveraging multimodal storytelling to inspire community engagement. This role will use technology, communications, marketing, and innovative practices to strengthen OneStar’s mission to alleviate poverty and support economic opportunity statewide.
