Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence (BBBSI) is the largest BBBS agency in the state and one of the largest in the nation. Our mission is to ignite the power and promise of youth and close the mentoring gap, by creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships and strengthening the quality of the mentoring field. Our mentoring programs include both community-based and site-based programs as well as more focused areas such as our LGBTQ+ program and Big Futures program. The Big Futures program is where the VISTA will be placed to provide support, and is focused on college and career readiness, empowering every young person on a path to graduate high school with a plan for their future and a mentor whose impact will last a lifetime.

Member Duties : The PHENND Fellow VISTA's main focus will include enhancing communication, supporting events, and/or strengthening relationships and building partnerships to support the graduates of BBBS through our new Big Futures program. The overall goal is to increase our services and the number of youth served, developing a more streamlined way to communicate with our community and track progress, and increase youth voice and engagement. Specific duties will include: collecting and tracking feedback/data, market research, resource identification and sharing in new ways, social media management, partner research, and developing new ways to engage youth, increase student voice and connect to opportunities.
