AgCorps Food Business Center Specialist
 
 
 
The Northwest and Rocky Mountain Regional Food Business Center is one of 12 newly created centers around the United States. The main goals of the Northwest and Rocky Mountain center are to cultivate and coordinate partnerships, provide localized technical assistance, and build the capacity of historically underserved communities. This position will primarily focus on the center’s mission to reach underserved communities including BIPOC, Tribal Nations, Veterans, New Entry and Urban Farmers, Farmers with Disabilities and Persistent poverty Regions. The service member will assist in identifying underserved communities and groups around the state regarding Agriculture. The member will assist in developing a network of partners who may be serving those communities and identify gaps in services. Once gaps are identified, the member will work with key stakeholders, including Colorado State University, to develop strategies to ensure resources and services are getting to the target groups and organizations. The member will continuously provide outreach and education for RFBC and provide technical assistance when needed.

Member Duties : This is a 1700 hour full-time position. As the Regional Food Business Center Specialist you will: • Help identify underserved communities and groups within the state • Help identify organizations that may be serving those groups. • Connect with evaluation staff at CSU to identify strategies to determine if Department resources are reaching underserved communities • Connect with partners to determine strategies to ensure resources are getting to underserved communities • If barriers are identified, develop strategies to minimize those barriers • Outreach and education regarding RFBC services • Assist with the Food product development lab as needed • Assist with the Montana Resilient Food Systems infrastructure program
