WSU VISTA - Bridget's Cradle Operations Manager

Bridget’s Cradles exists to provide comfort, hope, and healing to families grieving the loss of a baby. Bridget's Cradles provides hand-made knit and crocheted cradles to hospitals in all 50 states to offer to families whose babies were stillborn in the second trimester of pregnancy. Memory keepsakes are provided to families who have lost a baby in the first or third trimester. Bridget's Cradles supports families who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss by providing resources for healing, and by sharing hope-filled encouragement on its website, social media pages, and monthly podcast. Bridget’s Cradles offers monthly support groups, both in person and online. Lastly, Bridget’s Cradles hosts an annual candlelight vigil event called Wave of Light for bereaved families on October 15th, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, in Wichita, Kansas. We are seeking a VISTA to help with expanding outreach to grieving families, increasing our services to more hospitals across the country, and securing more funding for the mission. We are looking for a team-oriented individual with good communication and time management skills. We desire to have a team member with strong organizational skills, creativity, and positivity. Due to the nature of our organization in working with grieving families, we need the VISTA to be empathetic, compassionate, loving, and thoughtful. An ideal candidate would have strong interpersonal skills. The VISTA will need computer skills including experience with Word, Excel, Google Sheets, Adobe, and CRM database systems. We seek someone who is eager to learn, is easily trainable on various tasks and systems, and will take the initiative in solving problems and brainstorming strategies for growth.

Member Duties : Make contact with hospitals via phone, email, and where applicable, in-person visits, to provide hospitals with information about Bridget’s Cradles. Research and develop strategies for hospital expansion/outreach. Assist the Executive Director and Director of Communications in establishing automated workflows of communications for hospitals, volunteer, grieving moms, and donors. Assist the organization in communications with volunteers and general relations including but not limited to: emailing volunteers, executing mailings, and direct contact and interaction. Process incoming volunteer applications and attendance at volunteer events. Research and implement various strategies to recruit new knitting, crocheting, sewing, administrative, and other needed volunteers. Research and coordinate media and outreach opportunities to increase the exposure of Bridget’s Cradles events and resources, including but not limited to churches, medical professionals, news stations, and social media.
