AmeriCorps VISTA - Shepherd's House

We are an autonomous faith-based organization that is a rescue mission and warming center in Portage County that addresses each stage of homelessness and provides holistic healing through the power of the gospel. Our vision is that Shepherd's House is a place where the vulnerable can find not only a meal and a bed, but also hope and long-term healing. Shepherd's House is an organizational team of faith and community partners uniting in a common cause. Our mission is to provide rest and restoration to the vulnerable homeless individuals of Portage County working towards holistic healing - PHYSICAL-a bed, meal, housing; SPIRITUAL-restoration in Jesus Christ; EMOTIONAL-safety, counseling rest; and INTELLECTUAL-life skills, mentoring and training. The physical project is completed, and Shepherd's House has been operational since April 19, 2022, has served 645 homeless since opening, and 636 volunteers have leveraged 25,336 hours.
