25-26 Mediation Specialist - Cambridge, MA

The Community Dispute Settlement Center (CDSC) is a community mediation program offering mediation services and conflict skills training to all. Mediation is a process whereby people who are having a disagreement or conflict sit with volunteer mediators – a neutral party – to discuss and hopefully resolve differences. Through mediation and conflict skills training, we strengthen individuals’ ability to resolve conflict through peaceful means. Our Americorps member will be a part of the dynamic Youth team, helping create peer mediation programs in area middle and high schools. Some time will be spent providing intake and case support to our Case Coordinator. CDSC is seeking applicants with good communication skills, are hardworking, willing to learn new skills, and committed to supporting the CDSC team. Familiarity with Google docs, email a plus. Experience working with teens a plus. Proficiency in languages in addition to English a plus. Sense of humor always welcome. This program is available to all without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, age, religion, sexual orientation, disability (mental or physical), political affiliation, marital or parental status, pregnancy, genetic information (including family medical history), or military service. All positions are pending grant approval.
