'24-25 Refugee Women's Community Empowerment VISTA

The Women’s Community Empowerment VISTA is one of ten AmeriCorps VISTA members involved in the Utah Refugee VISTA Project (URVP). Our VISTAs serve at three sites across the Salt Lake Valley, but still work closely with one another. URVP VISTAs can expect professional development, mentorship, and support from AmeriCorps and their host organizations. We offer customized professional development opportunities to all members within our project. All members in our program receive an $880 bi-weekly stipend, 11 paid holidays, and 80 hours each of personal and medical leave. Additional benefits include relocation and settling-in allowance, childcare assistance, and healthcare reimbursement. Upon completion of service, our members are awarded their choice of an Education Award ($6,895) or cash stipend ($1,800), and a one-year federal noncompetitive eligibility status. Please reach out to Giuliana Cunningham, our AmeriCorps VISTA Leader, at giulianacunningham@utah.gov or 385-467-1896 for any questions about this opportunity!
