Prosperity Unlimited Communications VISTA
 
 
 
As the affordable housing crisis worsens across North Carolina, the complexity of housing underwriting can create barriers to homeownership. Housing counseling agencies provide valuable homebuyer and financial coaching to their communities with the goal of increasing homeownership and wealth building for clients, particularly those who have been historically marginalized by the home buying process. Effective communications are critical to engaging, empowering, and mobilizing potential homeowners to implement successful financial strategy to move through the homebuyer approval process. Prosperity Unlimited is located in Kannapolis, NC and provides housing counseling to Cabarrus, Gaston, Iredell, Mecklenburg, Rowan, and Stanly counties. The VISTA will play a key role in strengthening Prosperity Unlimited's communications and events to more effectively engage local government officials, employers, community organizers, and impacted individuals on housing issues. The VISTA will coordinate digital marketing in communications by developing new marketing materials, social media content, and communications strategies. The VISTA will also develop marketing materials to promote Prosperity Unlimited's upcoming events. During their service year, the VISTA will have opportunities to learn about housing counseling agencies and the role they play in the community, build their communications resume and portfolio, and network with housing professionals. Prosperity Unlimited is seeking a VISTA with experience in Canva or Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, and various social media platforms as well as skills in writing, communications, organization, and planning. In addition to a living allowance, the VISTA will receive a monthly housing stipend and the option for an education award or end of service stipend upon the successful completion of their service year. Member Duties : The VISTA will provide capacity building services to Prosperity Unlimited's digital marketing and communications and events. The VISTA will develop weekly social media content for the community and specific marketing materials for realtors and lenders about Prosperity's programs. During this process, the VISTA will develop marketing and communications templates that Prosperity can continue to use following the VISTA's service term. The VISTA will also research and develop a plan for improving Prosperity's online and social media engagement as well as their website. For Prosperity's upcoming events, the VISTA will develop marketing materials and marketing plans to cover the array of classes for Homebuyer Education, Financial Empowerment & Wealth-Building, Fair Housing, and more. The VISTA will also develop marketing materials and a marketing plan for the 2024 A Time to Build housing counseling training conference.
