FAFSA Completion Corps
 
 
 
The FAFSA Completion Corps, made up of AmeriCorps members, will be trained to help New Yorkers complete the FAFSA, which is the starting point for most federal and state financial aid. The AmeriCorps members will serve prospective students interested in pursuing higher education and current students currently enrolled at a college or university.

Member Duties : • Serve as AmeriCorps members for the FAFSA Completion Corps. • Undergo program training on-site. • Research outreach opportunities. • Attend college awareness events. • Communicate with students and potential students at events about FAFSA completion • Provide one on one support to FAFSA applicants, including answering questions, completing the FAFSA, or referring them to other resources. • Act as a liaison between applicants and financial aid officers. • Transport promotional materials and set up booths at events (ability to lift 15 pounds). • Students will have until August 2024 to complete 300 hours of service.
