Rosewood Nature Study Area Nature Center Host
 
 
 
The AmeriCorps Rosewood Nature Study Area Nature Center Host will be an essential member of the team for this young non-profit organization. This person will meet, welcome, and educate visitors to the Rosewood Nature Study Area. This AmeriCorps member will assist in communicating the importance of a healthy habitat and stewardship through the development and implementation of environmental education exhibits and events, interacting with nature center visitors, and leading interpretive tours of the property.

Member Duties : Create memorable experiences for visitors to the Nature Study Area by providing friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive Visitor Center interpretation; Answer questions, provide park and trail information, and interpret the natural and cultural history of the Visitor Center and Nature Study Area; Design, develop, and create Visitor Center exhibits; Develop relationships with Nature Study Area visitors, community members, volunteers, and city and county parks representatives; Recruit and coordinate volunteer Visitor Center docents; Care and upkeep of the Visitor Center space, exhibits, and garden/planters; Education animal care and habitat maintenance; Track visitor information, report visitor observations and feedback; Lead interpretive tours throughout the wetland; Develop adult education opportunities at the Nature Study Area; Daily park opening/closing procedures.
