24-25 Community Outreach Coordinator Short Creek Dream Ctr

--Short Creek Dream Center is a dynamic non-profit organization committed to addressing critical community needs, fostering personal and community growth, and enhancing the well-being of individuals in the twin towns of Hildale, UT and Colorado City, AZ. Our mission is to provide essential services, resources, and support to underprivileged and at-risk populations while fostering a vibrant, resilient, and self-sustaining community. We are seeking a dedicated Vista member to help us further our mission by building capacity for our organization. --This area has a 39.9% historical poverty rate compared to the national average of 11.2% and is currently experiencing a 900% suicide rate. Our role is to come alongside community members to improve their lives by developing and implementing all-inclusive outreach services and raising awareness among underserved populations. --As a social service and outreach organization, some of the challenges we face include our remote location, cultural barriers and building trust, and the low volunteer support. As a Community Outreach Coordinator VISTA member at the Center, you will play a vital role in expanding our organization’s reach and impact within the community. The primary goal of this position is to develop, implement, and coordinate outreach programs and initiatives that increase our visibility, volunteer engagement, and resource efforts. You will work closely with our team and community partners to create strategies to help us better serve those in need. This includes: evaluating the community's resource needs and developing systems for data collection and routine analysis as well as, developing communication strategies that resonate with target population. Examples of this are not limited to social media, community events, workshops, presentations. The VISTA Member will foster sustainable growth and positive change by strengthening skills, amplifying voices, and creating a network of empowered community members.
