JPRR - Volunteers leaders and logistics Coordinator, Juncos

Puerto Rico Youth at Risk, Inc. (PRYAR) is a non-profit organization that develops prevention programs for at-risk youth since 1996 with the mission to get the youth of Puerto Rico to take control of their lives and modify the conduct that has moved them to take dangerous risks. A Continuum of Socio-Educational Preventive Services integrates services provided to “at-risk” students emphasizing the transitional stages (elementary, to middle, to high school and post) which prepares students for the University starting in the elementary school, integrating graduates from each level in support of those in lower stages. The core elements of the projects include: mentoring one to one, experiential personal and social transformation workshops for themselves and their families, academic support, and significant employment and community service experiences. The AmeriCorps member will be assign to our Juncos site as the work base to develop the project. The service may be required to travel to other sites in Puerto Rico since our services are provided in public schools of the municipalities of San Juan, Canovanas, Juncos and Naguabo.
