Farm Fresh Rhode Island is a nonprofit with a mission to grow a local food system that values the environment, health and quality of life of the farmers and eaters of New England. Farm Fresh RI was founded in 2004 and received 501(c)3 nonprofit status in 2007. Since inception, the organization has grown briskly to capture the public interest in locally grown food and translate it into programs that increase food access, reduce food waste, and grow sales for local and regional farmers and producers. Strongly mission-driven, Farm Fresh hosts a variety of programs and services, with particular attention to farm viability and low-income access to fresh food. Farm Fresh operates a range of marketplace programs (retail, wholesale, processing) that engage and connect local eaters with thousands of farmers and food producers across New England. Our headquarters and operations are located in the valley neighborhood of Providence, Rhode Island. Farm Fresh RI seeks an outgoing and energetic Development and Communications VISTA with a collaborative attitude and excellent communication skills to build capacity for Farm Fresh RI’s communications and development team. The communications and development team raise funds for our programs and amplify the organizations’ and partners’ messages. During your term you will research current donor and grants management systems, current communications systems, and current fundraising event management systems. You will further refine these systems to streamline fundraising efforts. You will also cultivate new relationships with local businesses for sponsorship opportunities.

Member Duties : Meet with staff to discuss current donor, sponsorship, and fundraising event systems Meet with businesses to discuss sponsorship packages and what appeals most to them Identify needs and improvements of current individual donor, sponsor, and fundraising event pipelines and communications strategies. Develop and draft a new system to share with staff and receive feedback on Pilot new systems and evaluate staff ease of use and ongoing development Work with Communications Director and Assistant Director of Grants & Data to publicly thank foundation support Work with C&D team and program directors to contribute to collection of quotes, interviews, photographs, and other storytelling content
