We The People Community Health Worker Public Health AmeriCorps Members will provide basic health and medical education, preventive care, and promotional demonstrations specifically focused on COVID-19 health awareness and vaccination information along with other community health issues including training on opioid overdose prevention and HIV/AIDS education, nutrition, and community emergency response. Community Health Worker (CHW) Public Health AmeriCorps members will provide outreach, education, training and emergency response support to local community-based organizations, regional health departments and other related agencies and entities. We The People Community Health Worker Public Health AmeriCorps Members will serve a one-year term in exchange for a monthly living stipend and training. Corps members serve 34 hours a week and will complete 1700 hours of community service during their AmeriCorps Service Year. Corps members will receive training certifications for Community Health Worker, Mental Health First Aider, Community Emergency Response Team Member, Peer Educator in addition to Mediation Training, Leadership Training, Youth Development Training and Public Speaking Training along with Professional Coaching, Assistance finding housing, Monthly transportation support and Support in finding a job or education planning for after completing your service year.
