Community Stewardship Coordinator - Rock Point Commons/VHCB
 
 
 
Rock Point Commons encompasses 130 acres of publicly accessible conserved lands on the shores of Lake Champlain in Burlington, Vermont. The mission of Rock Point Commons is to cultivate an inclusive, place-based community for education, spirituality, and environmental stewardship. This position is part of a collaboration with our partner organization Burlington Wildways whose mission is to promote ecological health and improve nature access through stewardship, education, and collaboration. This position is part of the Vermont Housing & Conservation Board AmeriCorps (VHCB AmeriCorps). The VHCB AmeriCorps program supports the innovative dual-goal approach to creating stable affordable housing opportunities for Vermont residents while preserving the natural and working landscape. The goal of the Community Stewardship Coordinator is to strengthen organizational capacity for environmental stewardship and education. Position begins June 22 and ends December 18, 2026. This position is Half Time. Requires 915 hours for an average of 40 hours per week for 6 months. Member will receive a living allowance of $16,147 (pre-tax) as well as an education award of $3,697.50 (pre-tax) upon successful completion of service. This position serves in all weather conditions and terrain. Position involves weekday and weekend hours.

Member Duties : ·Coordinate and lead environmental education programming for the public ·Help lead and manage volunteer programs and community service days ·Serve as a guide to Rock Point’s nature center, welcoming visitors and designing and leading community engagement activities ·Support stewardship of Rock Point’s natural areas, orchards, gardens, and trails ·Participate in an Independent Service Project under the guidance of VHCB AmeriCorps. ·Participate in all VHCB AmeriCorps Program Initiatives & outreach activities to promote AmeriCorps. ·Engage in professional and personal development activities and networking opportunities.
