Development Coordinator VISTA

ANHC is a healing place where people can come to experience authentic engagement with Alaska Native cultures. The Alaskan Native Heritage Center’s sole mission is to heal tribal wounds, center Native Alaskan culture, educate, and be a place of uplift. That mission, given the history of Native Alaskan tribes, is anti-poverty work. The Development Department engages with many aspects of the organization, and there will be several opportunities within this VISTA position to collaborate with the Alaska Native community and to learn more about their histories, cultures and traditions. The Alaska Native Heritage Center Development Coordinator VISTA will serve to advance initiatives within the Development Department. The VISTA will work to build institutional capacity for ANHC’s donor relations and fundraising activities. The goal of the Development Coordinator’s year is to facilitate capacity within the department and across departments within the organization with an eye to enhancing execution of its mission-focused work. Finding new and innovative ways to recognize and interact with donors will help to shine a spotlight on those doing good in and for rural and Tribal communities. These activities will also facilitate part of the strategy of the organization – to connect and reconnect Alaskan Natives to who they are through communication, recognition, and healing.
