Our program enables members to be a part of a positive solution for our community while providing them with not only training and skills for their future but also a fun, unique, safe work environment. With this experience, ongoing training and benefits, as well as many unique historical and cultural learning opportunities, many AmeriCorps members choose to reapply after completion of their commitment. Program benefits: health coverage, training and certifications, stipend living allowance, education award upon successful completion of service term.

Member Duties : Member duties: Members primary duties include designing, building / rerouting trails, replacing trail kiosks and signage, gathering GPS information on trail data, and creating updated maps. Other primary duties include assistance in any natural disasters that are affect our area, recovering Recreation areas removing fire damage debris, creating erosion control devices , and forest monitoring. Numbers will also have the opportunity to participate in wilderness camping projects, and will help maintain historical sites throughout Fort Stanton and Lincoln New Mexico. Members have the opportunity to become Leave no Trace, HAM radio certified ICS 100, 200, and 700 certified, and saw 212.
