Red Cross Public Health AmeriCorps Team
 
 
 
Our Public Health AmeriCorps members will be responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and training a competent cadre of disaster volunteers, including credentialed health and mental health workers, to help deliver our mission to disaster-affected communities and households. Volunteers recruited by our members are responsible for disaster relief activities and community preparedness education programs. Public Health AmeriCorps members will serve approximately 40 hours per week for a total of 900 service hours in a 5.5-month term. Current opportunities are available in six states: Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, Montana and Idaho. Benefits include a bi-weekly stipend of $869.57 (paid every other Friday), health and dental coverage, and childcare assistance to those who qualify. Upon successful completion, members will receive a $3,677.50 education award to use towards qualified student loans or future tuition. Members may also qualify for federal student loan forbearance during the period of service as well as an additional interest payment award. AmeriCorps members at the Red Cross receive invaluable experience with an internationally respected organization. They are given the opportunity to build their network while accruing professional development skills including communication, project management, leadership ability and interpersonal effectiveness. Member Duties : We are looking for self-motivated and passionate individuals to join our Red Cross Public Health AmeriCorps team. Members will recruit and supervise volunteers to prepare and respond to local and national emergencies. Opportunities are available in six states: Alaska, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana.
