Volunteer and Community Engage. Coor - VISTA Lower Cape Fear

Diaper Bank of NC empowers families in need throughout North Carolina by providing basic baby needs and personal hygiene products. We partner with 100+ nonprofits to distribute our products efficiently and equitably; these partners use our products as resources to engage clients more deeply and consistently with the other support services they offer, easing the burden of poverty in critical ways. DBNC has distributed more than 26 million diapers since its inception in 2013. This position is located at our Lower Cape Fear Branch in Wilmington, NC. Wilmington is a coastal port city, and is a diverse and creative community known for its dedication to education and the arts. The VISTA member will collaborate closely with the management team to coordinate volunteer efforts to fulfill the weekly distribution of diapers and hygiene supplies, as well as develop a volunteer recruitment, onboarding, hour tracking, and appreciation program to provide infrastructure to grow our number of volunteers and increase engagement. HOW YOU KNOW DBNC IS THE RIGHT FIT FOR YOU: You are reliable and a friendly communicator who reaches out and follows-up with professional persistence. You regularly demonstrate strong self-motivation, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently. You are a justice seeker. No matter the seat on our team, every leader at the Diaper Bank shows a personal commitment and responsibility to address the systemic issues of racism and other forms of bigotry. You have a keen attention to detail, a love of adhering to organizational systems, and take great satisfaction in a job well done. This project will run from August 1, 2024 to August 1, 2025. Please reach out to Chief Operating Officer Jannice Verne at jannice@ncdiaperbank.org if you have any questions.
